About
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the observance of the right not to be subjected to inhuman treatment and torture through enhancing contacts/co-operation and dialogue between the authorities from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River and developing skills of forensic experts in examining and documenting cases of torture.
This conference "Modern methods used in forensic examination" is one of the activities implemented within the project. The conference will ensure information exchange among Transdniestrian and Moldovan forensic experts and law enforcement bodies on the existing practices to conduct qualitative and independent forensic expertise.
The event will provide a forum for the establishment of co-operation and partnership between the forensic experts and law enforcement agencies. Two international experts will participate in the conference: Mr. Panov Alexandr, acting director of the Bureau of Forensic Expertise from Rostov na Donu, Russia and Ms. Marija Definis Gojanovic, member of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) (since 2002) and member of the United Nations Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (SPT) (since 2007).
