On 28 September 2016, the OSCE Mission to Moldova and NGONGO
non-governmental organization Piligrim-Demo will hold a round table to raise awareness of the benefits of academic debate among high school students and teachers in the autonomous region of Gagauzia.
The round table will focus on the academic Karl Popper debate format, which teaches students how to conduct and participate in academic debates, demonstrate leadership and improve their public speaking, while encouraging increased civic participation among young people.
The event is organized as part of a one-year project implemented jointly by the OSCE Mission to Moldova and the Comrat-based NGO Piligrim-Demo that aims to actively engage national minority youth in local and national democratic processes by developing their debate skills.
