Statement of the OSCE Mission to Moldova following the meeting of Political Representatives on 24 September 2026

Today, the OSCE Mission to Moldova’s office in Tiraspol hosted a meeting of Representatives for Political Issues in the Transdniestrian settlement process. During the meeting, the Political Representatives, in the presence of mediators and observers, have discussed a wide range of topical issues and agreed to intensify dialogue, including at the level of expert (working) groups, to resolve these for the benefit of the people living on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River. In particular:
• For the purpose of ensuring the effective operation of Vehicle Registration Offices in Tiraspol and Ribnita in the spirit of previous agreements reached by the Sides, the Moldovan side will work on clarifying the relevant regulatory acts.
• With regard to providing adequate premises in Ribnita for the Latin-script school, the Transdniestrian side will continue its efforts to develop and implement a mechanism for transferring facilities located at 14 Gagarin Street to the Evrika Lyceum. International partners, in turn, will help the Sides in agreeing on the necessary guarantees and will provide the necessary support to bring the aforementioned facilities into a condition suitable for conducting the educational process.
• The Sides have agreed to interact on the issue of providing adequate premises in Grigoriopol for the operation of the Stefan cel Mare si Sfint Lyceum teaching in the Latin script.
• The Sides have agreed to hold the next meeting of Political Representatives before the end of 2026.
